Caring for Trans and Non binary patients

Transphobia affects 70% of trans individuals when accessing general health services. Additionally, 45% of trans people feel their GP lacks a good understanding of their needs, rising to 55% for non-binary individuals.

This training aims to empower healthcare and non healthcare professionals with the tools to comprehend, empathise, and provide effective care for the trans and non-binary community.

  • Exploring the current experiences of Trans and Non-binary patients

  • Enhancing language, terminology, and knowledge to boost confidence in communicating with these patients, including the use of correct pronouns

  • Understanding the medical professional's role in a patient's transitioning journey, encompassing shared care and bridging prescriptions

  • Engaging in case studies as practical exercises to apply new learning

  • Implementing best practices in clinical management, with access to relevant resources for both staff and patients.

How can it be delivered?

  • Online webinars can be delivered in two ways

    1. 15-20 people allowing for high engagement with speakers unmuting and breakout rooms

    2. Up to 100 people with some engagement via chat box and quizzes

    • Expenses with travel included (accurate quote can be given)
